Short Bio

I am Fabio Giachelle, a computer engineer passionate about Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience, Cultural Heritage Data Access, and Digital Libraries Applications.
In 2019, I obtained an M.Eng. in computer engineering at the University of Padua with a thesis concerning the application of visual analytics techniques for the automatic incremental evaluation of search engines. Then, in 2023, I obtained a Ph.D. in Information Engineering at the University of Padua with a thesis concerning the application of both information access and visual analytics for supporting the medical decision-making process in the digital pathology domain.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Private Law and Critique of Law of the University of Padua (DPCD). I am part of the research team of the MICOLL ERC project, where I have the opportunity to work on the design and implementation of the digital tools and services supporting the project findings such as the digital maps and lexicons related to the migrating commercial routes and law terms.
I was the co-organizer of the 26th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL) and the publicity and Web chair of TPDL in the last two editions (2022, 2023). I was also the publicity and Web chair of both the 17th and 18th editions of the Italian Research Conference on Digital Libraries (IRCDL).
